Workshop on genomics of insecticide resistance in Aedes aegypti

The West African Aedes Surveillance Network (WAASuN) in collaboration with National Institute of Public Health (INSP), Cape Verde is pleased to announce a training workshop on molecular detection of insecticide resistance markers in Aedes aegypti scheduled for 15th – 16th June, 2026 in Praia, Cabo Verde. The workshop will include lectures and practical demonstrations.

We invite interested applicants to apply for participation in this training.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be a student, early career researcher, or a professional working in a relevant field
• Demonstrate interest in the training topic
• Be available to attend the full duration of the training
• Be willing to share knowledge gained with their institution/community

Application Requirements

Interested applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
2. Cover Letter
3. Letter of Motivation explaining:
o Interest in the training
o How the training will benefit their work
4. Institutional affiliation (if applicable)
5. One reference letter from immediate supervisor

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be selected based on:

• Relevance of professional background
• Motivation and interest in the training topic
• Potential to apply knowledge gained

Note:

All selected applicants will be supported with return ticket, accommodation and per diem and will also participate in the main conference activities on arboviruses
